Wilson’s Week
For 360 days, the A8 calendar gives you a direction. During Wilson’s Week, the compass is set free. For five Gold Days, everyone may go their own way.
A year designed as a memorable operating rhythm: 8 compass months, 9 planetary weeks per month, 5 elemental days per week, protected time built into the cycle, and a gold year-end interval called Wilson’s Week.
Calendar day path: the integer A8 YEAR DAY is anchored once for the qualified Core21 source epoch, then the server advances it only from Core21's integer recovered civil-day dayCount. The live ABSOLUTE YEAR PHASE27 remains a read-only orbital-orientation / seasonal register and cannot create or remove calendar days. Browser date/time is not an input.
Authority separation: native A8 year orientation is established independently from the integer calendar date. PHASE27 is a read-only orbital / seasonal register and cannot create, remove or advance a calendar day. Running date arithmetic is exactly YEAR DAY = native anchor day + (Core21 dayCount − anchor dayCount), wrapped by the server-owned native four-year calendar register.
Calendar seam: North / Day 1 begins at calendar year phase 000₈. Absolute Sol PHASE27 is intentionally not painted until native A8 year orientation has been established upstream. Month IDs remain the separate three-bit register 000–111.
Compass anchors: N 000₈ · NE 100₈ · E 200₈ · SE 300₈ · S 400₈ · SW 500₈ · W 600₈ · NW 700₈. These remain the exact 64-A8-angle compass references; the month register's compact 0₈–7₈ labels are not angle values.
Calendar dial spacing: the recovered year wheel is 512 A8 angle. In a normal 365-day A8 year, the 360 structured month-days occupy 504.9863 A8 angle, each 45-day month occupies 63.1233 A8 angle, and Wilson's five Gold Days occupy the final 7.0137 A8 angle. In native Cycle D, the 366-day leap year gives the structured 360 days 503.6066 A8 angle, each month 62.9508 A8 angle, and six Gold Days 8.3934 A8 angle. The thin compass ticks remain the independent exact 64-A8-angle ruler.
Transport: polling only repaints server-owned state. Poll cadence does not advance the calendar. This display does not call the Core21 clock-alignment POST.

Binary identifies the machine state, the octal digit is the compact A8 readable abbreviation, and the compass name makes the month memorable.

The year has an exact 360-day structured body. The week rhythm alternates continuously across month boundaries; it does not restart merely because a month changes.
Three-bit month register: 000 through 111, paired with N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW.
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto form the nine named week rows.
Fire → Water → Terra → Air → Aether. Day numbering stays with the intuitive decimal sequence 1 through 45.
Year-end celebration outside the eight-month register: five protected gold element days, plus a sixth gold leap-extension day when required.
Aether is always protected. Air alternates between ordinary business and protected silver. Holidays and religious observances are assigned only to protected days or Wilson’s Week, so ordinary business days remain ordinary business days.
The proposed ordinary business-day rhythm uses the native A8 day rather than legacy hours.
A8 HOUR means 1/32 of the A8 day. It is not a legacy hour with a new label.
The ordinary eight-month register closes cleanly at 360 days. A separate protected gold interval then closes the year.
72 five-day weeks · 36 + 36 alternating week forms.
252 business days + 108 protected days.
Fire · Water · Terra · Air · Aether — all protected Gold Days outside the ordinary month register.
Normal year: 365. Leap extension when required: 366.
There are 72 five-day weeks in eight months. Because 72 is even, exactly half are Week A and half are Week B, and the annual alternation returns to its starting orientation after the structured body.
Each artwork carries the same calendar machinery while the compass identity changes. Open any page at full resolution.
After month 111 · 7₈ · NW closes, the month register has completed every possible three-bit state. Wilson’s Week follows the 360-day body as a separate year-end interval:
The artwork is playful; the rules underneath it are explicit. These plates explain protected days, year structure and the operating rhythm.
The machine can retain exact binary state while people speak in compass, planet and element names.
000 · 0₈ · N · North through 111 · 7₈ · NW · Northwest.
The 3-bit state is exact; the octal digit is compact; the compass name is mnemonic.
Example: Jupiter Week · Aether Day, or Venus Week · protected Air Day.
The planetary names are calendar labels following the familiar historical nine-world sequence. Retaining Pluto as the ninth week name is nomenclature for this calendar, not a claim about modern astronomical classification.
This is a COSIGO Labs experimental calendar architecture: a proposal for organizing the civil year around an eight-month register, a five-day elemental rhythm and pre-allocated protected time. The images are illustrative presentation artwork; the exact calendar rules are the text and generated tables on this page.
It does not claim that compass directions, planet names or classical elements cause the astronomical year. They are memorable descriptive labels placed on an engineered calendar. The underlying A8 project continues to separate Nature, observation, physical rulers and engineered representation.
The live calendar panel reads the server-owned native integer YEAR DAY from Core21's counted civil-day path. Absolute YEAR PHASE27 is a separate optional read-only orbital / seasonal diagnostic and does not choose the date. Legacy external orientation machinery is preserved dormant behind glass; the native four-year register alone controls the calendar leap extension.
